Our Story

You’re here because you’re not looking for “just a tattoo.”

You’re looking for art with intention, crafted by someone who understands that a tattoo lives on a moving, breathing canvas.

At Mr Lucky’s Cape Town Tattoo, everything begins with respect.  For the craft, for tradition, and for the person choosing to carry this art for life.

Founded by Milo "Mr Lucky" Marcer, the studio has its roots in over 30 years of dedication to tattooing. Milo has worked across Europe and the United States, earned international recognition, featured in both local and global publications, and published books on his tattoo art. Over the decades, he has developed his own style, grounded in traditional Japanese tattoo principles, executed with a bold, modern graphic feel.

This studio exists for people who value thoughtful design, strong artistic direction and a tattoo experience that’s intentional from the first sketch to the final wipe-down.

Whether you’re coming in for a small piece or a full project, you can expect honesty, precision, and a commitment to giving you work that stands the test of time.

If you’re serious about tattoo art, you’re in the right place.

Milo "Mr Lucky" Marcer

Founder

First generation Italian, Milo “Mr. Lucky” Marcer lives and works in Cape Town, South Africa. After studying fine Art at Wits Tech, Milo worked as a designer and Illustrator in the Advertising industry, all the while tattooing.

Milo has devoted 30 years to the art of tattooing, worked all over Europe & the United States, has won awards and has been published in several local and international publications.

He is very inspired by  the old tattoo masters like Bert Grimm, Sailor Jerry, George Burchett, Doc King, Don Ed Hardy as well as Oriental & Tribal tattoo design, however he always retains his illustrative roots and with his creative twist, all his images remain intriguing.

It would be wrong to pigeonhole his style as it is ever evolving and changing, transforming into fabulous works of art in his clients skin.
